Kaizer Chiefs ensured their MultiChoice Diski Challenge campaign would conclude on a positive note with a 2-1 win over SuperSport United on Sunday.

A nice low cross in behind the SuperSport United defence from the left flank by Spha Mdlalose, meant Emmanuel Letlotlo just needed to stick out a toe and poke it between Ronwen Williams' legs to open the scoring for Chiefs in the 18th minute.

Matsatsantsa were struggling to deal with the width of Amakhosi's set up and the second goal came from the other flank, Letlotlo turned provider this time, lobbing the ball in for Yusuf Bunting at the back post and he smashed the ball into the open net in the 23rd minute.

Fagrie Lakay tried to get his side back into the match with a powerful shot from just outside the box, but it was well saved by Luthando Sixhaso.

SuperSport were much improved after the break. So much so, it seemed as if a completely different 11 had taken the field.

They put Chiefs under immense pressure in search of a way back into the match, intially as Safedien flicked a header just wide.

Next was Lakay, who managed to squirm his way through the defence before blazing his shot over the bar. Sixhaso was then forced to produce an excellent save to deny Thabani Mthembu.

Matsatsantsa were eventually able to pull one back with five minutes left on the clock as the Chiefs defence were punished for a careless error. Keylock picked up the loose ball and pulled it back for Mpho Mbebe, who finished well.

Unfortunately, it proved to be too little, too late for SuperSport, as Kaizer Chiefs ran out 2-1 winners on the day.
