Telkom Knockout set for exciting finish

The Telkom Knockout final has come at the perfect time to give supporters who are already in a festive mood a chance to enjoy the end of a competition that has been nothing short of exciting.

Two of the country's in-form teams will face off in what should be an entertaining but tightly contested Telkom Knockout final, with R4 million and the coveted trophy on offer for the winning team. SuperSport United, the 2014 champions, take on surprise package Cape Town City at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday, 10 December 2016.

It's the first time a Telkom Knockout final will be played in Polokwane and supporters up in the north can expect a fun filled day that is perfect for a family outing. Some of South Africa's top musicians will be performing at the final, including DJ Ganyani who will be treating the people in his home province to music that has won him big awards. King of kwaito Arthur Mafokate is another one of the top artists on the list and he'll be supported by the ever energic Chomee and her lively dancers who can get any crowd on their feet.

Award winning gospel artist Winnie Mashaba, as well as Richard Mtsweni, Solly Moholo, and former Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa are part of the exciting line-up of artists that will be performing on the day of the final.

Tickets are available at any of the 118 TicketPro outlets throughout the country, selling at R60 for adults and R15 for children under the age of 12. Fans can go to their nearest CNA, Postnet, Edgars and Jet stores to purchase their tickets. Ahead of the final, Telkom will give supporters of the beautiful game an opportunity to enjoy “Unlimited rivalry” on SA's lowest call rate.

Roadshows will be held in and around Polokwane starting on Thursday 8th December at Seshego Circle and Limpopo Mall. On the eve of the final (Friday), roadshows will take place at Paledi Mall and Mankweng Shopping Centre from 8am till 4pm.

There will be guest appearances by SuperSport United legends Jabu Mahlangu and Thabo September. Fans will have an opportunity to get autographs from the legends, take pictures with the coveted Telkom Knockout Trophy and stand a chance of winning double tickets to the match between SuperSport United and Cape Town City. Prizes up for grabs include a Telkom hamper if they buy a Sim sonke sim card and airtime worth R40 or more, to get “Unlimited Rivalry” on SA's lowest call rate.

“Having the Telkom Knockout just as the festive season gets underway means we can end a memorable year of football in South Africa with a bang. We are excited that the final will be played in Polokwane and we can assure the supporters of great entertainment as we paint the city blue. We urge supporters to bring their family members for a great outing which features live performances and great action on the pitch,” said Telkom's Group Executive Communication & Brand Marketing, Jacqui O' Sullivan.

Telkom, in partnership with the Premier Soccer League, will put up a banter booth for supporters to write their banter with the opposition, which creates more excitement for the game. There's also an opportunity for the supporters to take pictures with the trophy that will be lifted by one of the clubs in the final.

A fan from each participating team with the best Unlimited Rivalry banter and a few of their friends will be upgraded to the Telkom Fan Suite where they will receive an exclusive unforgettable experience. If you’re an avid supporter, a local, or just eager for a really epic atmosphere, this is going to be a nail-biter you won’t want to miss.
