#TKO2016 semi-finals: Build-up in quotes

Cape Town City host Free State Stars and SuperSport United meet with Orlando Pirates in Mbombela in Saturday's two 2016 Telkom Knockout semi-final showdowns.

Here are some selected pre-match quotes:

CT City boss Eric Tinkler

"We’ve managed to now get into another semi-final, come off a very good run of results and obviously we want to take this game extremely seriously because it’s a great opportunity to get to a final.

“It’s going be a tough game. I saw their coach make about five changes to his regular line up in the league game, and that tells me he’s giving the cup more importance than the league.

“So it’s going to be extremely tough game - they knocked out two big giants in Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs, so we mustn’t think it’s going to be easy.”

Free Stars coach Giovanni Solinas

"We need to put the energy into this game and it is not the moment to think about the past two games," he told KickOff.

"We need to move forward and we need to stick together, move together and give our best for this game. But we're trying to give our best and we don't have too much time to prepare for this game because we have been traveling a lot but we will give our best."

Pirates interim coach Augusto Palacios

"We must work together as a team. The important thing is the effort and the commitment of the team. Play for the supporters, play for your family, and play for yourselves."

"I have experience when a team is desperate to win and make mistakes. We are not desperate here, there is no hurry at Pirates".

"It's an honour for me to work with [Tendai] Ndoro but I have worked with the best at Pirates like Benny McCarthy, Manyathela & many more."

"When I took over, the message was very clear: we don't have to remember the past. We have to focus on the now and future."

SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter

The players are in a good space and quite confident, without being complacent, because we know we have a lot of work to do.

We know we could be in for a big battle. They go into the match with an experienced coach and a happy squad, that sounds pretty dangerous doesn't it.

"We have done quite well to cut him (Ndoro) out and show him spaces that his not good at. If you give him a chance he will punish you."

"We need to have a clear picture of how to win this game and not copy what we did in that game (6-1 win)."

SuperSport midfielder Dean Furman

"It is a huge month for us and there is nothing bigger than a semi-final at this stage against Pirates.

"It is going to be a tough game, I think they've won their last three games, they're in good form. They are gonna be a difficult opposition to beat, but we are desperate to get to the final. So we going to rest up, recover and be ready for a big game."
