Jomo Cosmos wishes to sincerely apologize to the Honourable Chairman of the League Dr Irvin Khoza, the League board, Corporate sponsors, the media, Ezenkosi supporters and football supporters, as well as the SABC for the embarrassing jersey mix-up at the Absa Premiership fixture against Maritzburg United on 17 December 2011.

Cosmos donned their red training tops for the game, instead of an official red top that was agreed between both parties during the pre-match phone meeting process.

The teams had reached a conclusion on a particular set of colours but Cosmos arrived at the venue without their official red tops and were compelled to use their warm-up tops instead.

The club spokesman and Communications Manager, Josiah Lucky Mhlathe accepts full responsibility for the unfortunate incident.

He said: “Jomo Cosmos duly regrets this unfortunate incident and personally I have accepted full guilt, with a promise that this would never happen again.

“Therefore, on behalf of Jomo Cosmos, I wish to send my profound apologies to the Chairman of the League Dr. Khoza, the League board as well as the corporate sponsors and the public broadcaster SABC over the incident.”
