Cosmos still looking for maiden win

Jomo Cosmos will go in search of their first win in the Absa Premiership this season when they host Golden Arrows on Saturday at the Sinaba Stadium.

Cosmos went down 3-1 at the hands of Bloemfontein Celtic in their last league outing. They have lost six of their opening 10 games.

The Gauteng team has drawn three and lost two of their five home games so far this season. Ezenkosi are placed last on the Absa Premiership log with four points from 10 matches.

Arrows suffered a 2-1 defeat to Durban rivals AmaZulu in their last league match – they have gone three matches without a win.

The KwaZulu-Natal side have won one and lost four of their five away matches so far this season.

Abafana Bes’thende are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with seven points from 10 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Cosmos and Arrows have met in 18 league games since 2000/01.

Abafana Bes’thende have 10 wins to Ezenkosi’s two, while six matches have been drawn. Cosmos’ home record against Arrows reads: P9 W2 D3 L4 GF5 GA8.

When the teams met in the 2009/10 season, Arrows did a league ‘double’ over Cosmos, winning both home (2-0) and away (1-0).

Ezenkosi last claimed a win from this fixture back in 2003/04.
