PSL DC Update

The following PSL Disciplinary Committee hearings were heard yesterday at the PSL Offices on 12 October 2011:

Sivutsa Stars along with club official, Comfort Mkhatshwa, appeared before the PSL DC on charges of club official misbehaviour and unsporting behaviour. This incident occurred on 10 September 2011 in the match between Witbank Spurs and Sivutsa Stars at the Ackerville Stadium.

Mkhatshwa after being dismissed from the technical area by the referee made gestures suggesting that the match officials received money from Witbank Spurs. He also used abusive language to the referee.

Mkhatshwa was found guilty and suspended from League activities until the end of the first round of the season.

Moroka Swallows appeared before the PSL DC on charges of a player’s jersey number not corresponding with the jersey number on the team sheet. This occurred in the Absa Premiership match between Moroka Swallows and Free State Stars on 14 September 2011.

Lerato Chabangu wore jersey number 14 while on the team sheet, he was allocated as wearing jersey number 39. Swallows pleaded guilty and were fined R10 000.00

Jomo Cosmos appeared before the PSL DC on charges of failure to submit a team sheet timeously. This occurred in the Absa Premiership match between Jomo Cosmos and SuperSport United played on 17 September 2011 at Sinaba Stadium. Cosmos paid an admission of guilt fine of R5 000.00

Platinum Stars appeared before the PSL DC following a protest by Golden Arrows regarding Rule 10.4 of the National Soccer League Rules. The incident occurred in an Absa Premiership match between Golden Arrows and Platinum Stars played on 14 September 2011 at King Zwelithini Stadium.

Platinum Stars did not have their player identity cards for the pre match inspection and fielded players in the match without player registration cards. Stars were reprimanded for their actions.
