Cosmos searching for first win

Jomo Cosmos will go in search of their first points in the 2011/12 Absa Premiership season when they host AmaZulu at Sinaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Cosmos have lost all three of their opening fixtures in the league so far. Their last outing prior to the international break was a 1-0 defeat away to Free State Stars.

Ezenkosi, who won promotion to the Premier Division last season, find themselves placed 14th in the league standings. AmaZulu have fared little better than Cosmos, having claimed just one point from their first three games. In their last outing they lost 2-1 away to SuperSport United.

Usuthu find themselves placed 13th – just one place ahead of their opponents. In head-to-head stats, Cosmos and AmaZulu have met in 38 league games since 1985.

Ezenkosi have traditionally dominated the fixture, claiming 18 wins to Usuthu’s seven. Thirteen matches have been drawn.

Cosmos have a fine home record against AmaZulu, having won 12 of the 19 games in which they have hosted the KwaZulu-Natal team.

The teams last played league games against one another in the 2009/10 season. They both ended in draws – 1-1 in Gauteng and 0-0 in KwaZulu-Natal. In fact, the last four league matches between the teams have all been drawn, three of them with a 0-0 score line.

Kick-off at 19h30.
